Hazmat / Dangerous Goods Policy
Our Hazmat/Dangerous Goods Policy was last updated on 1/13/26. At Talenti Group, we are committed to providing safe and compliant shipping services for hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods in accordance with DOT, FAA, and IATA regulations.
Important Note: This is a general template and does not constitute legal advice. Consult qualified experts for compliance with applicable regulations.
Interpretation and Definitions
Words with capitalized initial letters have meanings defined below.
Definitions
- Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) — substances or articles that pose a risk to health, safety, or the environment as defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Dangerous Goods — similar to Hazmat; substances regulated for transport under international and national rules.
- Shipper — the entity offering the shipment for transport.
- Carrier — Talenti Group Inc., the entity transporting the shipment.
- Regulations — applicable rules including 49 CFR, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, IMDG Code, and other relevant standards.
Acceptance of Hazmat/Dangerous Goods
We accept hazardous materials and dangerous goods only when they are fully compliant with applicable regulations. Prior approval may be required for certain shipments. We reserve the right to refuse any shipment that does not meet our acceptance criteria.
Eligible Items
We may accept dangerous goods in Classes 1–9 (explosives, gases, flammable liquids, flammable solids, oxidizers, toxic and infectious substances, radioactive materials, corrosives, and miscellaneous), subject to quantity limits and other restrictions.
Prohibited: Undeclared hazardous materials, shipments exceeding applicable limits, and high-risk items that we do not handle. Contact us to confirm eligibility before shipping.
Shipper Responsibilities
The Shipper is responsible for:
- Correct classification of the hazardous material or dangerous goods
- Proper packaging, marking, and labeling in accordance with regulations
- Complete and accurate documentation (e.g., Shipper's Declaration, SDS)
- Ensuring personnel are trained as required by applicable regulations
- Full compliance with all applicable laws and carrier requirements
Carrier Responsibilities
Talenti Group, as Carrier, will inspect shipments for apparent compliance, transport goods safely in accordance with regulations, and report incidents as required. We reserve the right to refuse any shipment that appears non-compliant or poses an unacceptable risk.
Shipping Methods and Restrictions
Ground transport is generally preferred for hazardous materials. Air transport is subject to additional limitations under IATA and FAA rules. International shipments require customs clearance and compliance with destination-country regulations.
Quantity limits and surcharges may apply depending on the class of dangerous goods and mode of transport. Contact us for specific requirements and pricing.
Emergency Response
In the event of an incident involving hazardous materials, contact emergency services immediately. We provide Emergency Response Guide (ERG) information and maintain 24/7 access to relevant safety data where applicable.
Liability and Insurance
The Shipper indemnifies Talenti Group for claims arising from the Shipper's failure to comply with regulations or provide accurate information. Our liability is limited as set forth in our terms of service and applicable law. Adequate insurance coverage is recommended for hazardous shipments.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Hazmat/Dangerous Goods Policy as needed to reflect regulatory changes or operational requirements. Continued use of our services after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
